Did I say stash? Yep …. On Scraptastic Club’s blog one of the challenges it pull out an older kit and scrap with it. Also to have stitching on your page. I added stitched marks around the title block. I really don’t know what month’s kit this is but I bought it from Scraptastic Club about a year ago and I just adore the MME papers.
So as I’m trying to catch up on Makenah’s book. I used the papers and embellishments from this kit to create the following layout. One more down, tons to go…. use up your stash!
Hand Made Flower

Still working on my collection of “Thank You” cards. Scraptastic Club has a challenge where you have to use (3) different pattern papers and create a flower. I used my nestable punches and created (3) layers and embellished them to add dimension by doodling, paint dots and dimensional adhesive.

Sunday afternoon here and I had time to finish up a layout I had been working on.
I was inspired by a sketch that was posted on Scraptastic Club blog. I just adore their kits, I have bought a couple in the past. Now that I have begun scrapping again I need to dig into those kits!

I also used this layout to complete another challenge..Scrapbooking Everyday Miracles, challenged it’s followers to create a layout about someone that has said things that make us laugh. My son is just that…So Silly. This was a perfect opportunity for me to document two things I think of often that make me smile. Shortly after we had our 2nd child my son asked if we could put her back in my tummy just for a little while….I had to laugh and tell him it does not work that way. Also every day when I left for work he would say…Have a good day and have a good luck! I always giggled how he said it. The twist you had to add Bakers Twine somewhere on the layout. I added some to the banner. Thank you “Scrapbooking Everyday Miracles” to motivating me to scrap these memories.
Scrapping Everyday Miracles April Sketch Challenge

I just recently found another fabulous challenge blog ” Scrapping Everyday Miracles“. What an inspirational site, something I for sure can use in my life right now. They posted the following sketch to follow with a twist. I had to use distressing on the layout. I distressed the outer edge of the scalloped die cut as well as my journal block.

Echo Park and a Sketch

I’m helping Diana from Design by diana celebrate her blogiversary! I have always adored her sketches when she created them for Sketchy Thursdays and have missed her work. So when she posted this sketch I really wanted to play! I have had some Echo Park just waiting for me to dig into it. I used both the A Walk in the Park and Little Girl collections which coordinate very nicely. Here is the sketch and you can find more info on her blogiversary here.

Imaginisce Gift Bag

This month’s challenge on the Imaginisce blog is to incorporate paper piecing into you layout or project. I thought this was the perfect opportunity for me to utilize my Cricut! I thought I could easily incorporate a cute critter within the design of my gift bag. I used all Imaginisce papers besides black. The majority of the pattern papers used is from the Berrylicious collection, with others coming from older collections I had in my stash. I decorated a plain brown paper bag. I just folded it down about 2″ from the top to create a flap. I attached the bee right to the edge of the flap. I’ll be filling it with goodies and giving it as a smile to one of my good friends.

The last several weeks I had not been feeling so well. It came on quiet sudden. I’m finally getting better. It seems my immune system decided to attack my own body. Being a mommy of two small ones that worked full time with a husband that works long hours it has been a challenge getting through the days. My family and friends have been wonderful and my “work” family really came through. I have had dinners delivered to us, support, and even a collection to order out. I’m not one that it’s easy to accept help but I have to say it was the most wonderful thing to not have to worry about cooking on top of everything else. With that said I have several Thank you’s to begin making as I’m getting better and hope to return to work very soon.
I found a fun challenge here on Punky Sprouts to inspire me to create with spring items, I love flowers so I grabbed some of my stashed My Little Shoebox papers with fun colors and patterns and got to work. I used a simple brown lunch paper bag and decorated a quick little “Thank You” gift bag. I’m thinking on filling it with some yummies and give out to those that were so fabulous to me.
Now since I have had so much time I found another wonderful blog site, The Paper Variety that posts tutorials and how to’s to inspire their readers. The current challenge can be found here. I have soooo many buttons so I thought I would try out Sandi’s flower button tutorial found here. I loved how it turned out! Thanks Sandi for getting me to try something new. Here is a close up of my button flower.
