Happy New Year

angie January 4th, 2012

Well with the new year I have been cleaning the house and organizing.  Feels good to put together bags for good will as well.  With all of that I’m trying to be prepared for the next holiday coming our way.  I quickly created with some scraps I had laying around a treat bag for my son to give his teacher for Valentines day.  I wrapped each mini candy bar with pattern paper then decorated a bag topper to coordinate with the candy.  One project done so many more to go!

If your looking for a quick gift giving idea these candy bags are perfect!

My Little Stinker

angie December 28th, 2011

Now that all the holiday festivities are dying down I have had a bit of time to upload my latest layouts.  This has to be one of my favorites!  This is a photo I took of my daughter one summer day as we were playing in the backyard.  My daughter seems to be a bit more risky than my son was at that age.  She loves exploring everything and has the will to climb just about anything.  I had picked up these papers from Nikki Sivils and thought the colors would be a great color combo to use with the photo.

It’s Raining It’s Pouring

angie December 27th, 2011

Recently I spent some time searching for an online site to purchase the “It’s Raining, It’s Pouring” Collection by Nikki Sivils.   For Christmas I bought myself some new scrapbooking papers!   I just adored this cute little turtle that the collection features and a variety of rain boots!  I lucked out and it arrived just a few days ago.  I created this fun layout of my son playing in the rain, by using several of the elements that come with the collection.  I love the papers that I can cut out borders and other embellishments to jazz up my page!  Just look how cute that turtle is?  I also cut apart a border of rain boots by the pairs and over layered them to add a fun design to my page.  I cut out a  cloud and placed it over the turtle and used it as my journal block.  I have so much leftover I’m already working on the next page.

Products Used:

Nikki Sivils “It’s Raining, It’s Pouring” Collection, and black fine tip marker

1. Use “Taking Shell-ter” paper as your base foundation to your layout.

2. Crop “May Flowers” paper to 6″ by 6.5″ and adhere to the background, about 1/2″ from the top of the border and 1/4″ from the right border.

3. Adhere you 4×6 photo to “May Flowers”

4 Adhere your (2) smaller photos to the left side of your focal photo.

5.Cut out a yellow photo corner from “Cut Ups” paper and adhere to the upper left hand corner of your photo mat.

6. Place (3) Sentiment stickers from the sticker sheet in the upper right hand corner of your photo mat layering over the focal photo slightly.

7. Place mini brads or mini buttons to embellish the sitcker tag.

8. Cut out borders for the bottom portion of your photo mat.

9. Cut out the boots border, proceed to cut out pairs of boots.  Layer them slightly touching each other as the lower border.

10.Cut out a cloud to use as your journal block, place above the turtle’s umbrella.

11.Cut out Sentiment and add to the title of your cloud journal block.

12.Adhere the title to the upper left hand portion of your layout.  I outlined the letters with a black fine tip marker.

13. Outline a portion of the scallops on your background paper.

14. Adhere your background paper to a solid color cardstock.

Long Week Winding Down

angie December 15th, 2011

We were lucky enough to have the flu bug visit the house this week.  First my son, then my daughter, less than 8 hours later I had it and lastly my husband bonded with the bug.  Work has been crazy this week, all the last minute reports to finish up on for year end.  I keep telling myself only a few more days and I have some time off!

I did have some good news for the week!  From my previous post I won the sketch challenge at “sketches4all”.  I’m so excited to create with the Nikki Sivils Gingerbread  Land Collection!

Lastly I pulled out some school photos from last year, yes last year.  Never too late to scrap them and created the following page with Best Creations Paper Collections!  I just love the fun school papers!

Time to start wrapping…

angie December 7th, 2011

As I was preparing for St. Nick to visit I was taking inventory of what presents I have so far that I can start wrapping!  I think I’m done with my son, maybe one or two more small things for my daughter….and immediate family about 50% done.  Need to get going on that ….I hate to have that wait till the last minute and I’m running out to the stores.  However I think I can get a good head start on wrapping this year!  I enjoy it so much better when I’m not rushed!  That reminded me of a picture I had of my son from about 2 years ago opening a box almost larger than him!  We could all feel his excitement as he tore through the paper!  So I just had to scrap the event!  Hope this motivates you to pull out some of your holiday pics and get scrappin…or maybe I inspired you to start wrapping!

December Fun

angie December 4th, 2011

It’s been awhile since I blogged, would like to get back in the swing of things.  Were putting up the tree and lights today, hoping out 15 month old knows enough to understand NO when touching the tree.  This should be an experience.  I let the sitter train her for a week before we decided to put ours up.  So in light of getting in the holiday spirit I’m posting a layout I created of my oldest clowning around in his Santa Hat!  Happy December!

My Little Shoebox News!

angie June 14th, 2011

I had to share a bit of HAPPY news!  Last week was just chaotic for me!!!  My husband is putting in extra hours at work and my job had a few large projects to complete.  But in the midst of all that fun….I hopped on one of my favorite blogs and I was pleasantly surprised to see my layout was showcased!  That made my day!  Not only that but I was picked as the sketch challenge winner of the MLS blog!  I absolutely adore their products but find it difficult to find locally.  I was just about out of my stash!  I just received my winnings yesterday and THANK YOU My Little Shoebox!  I can’t wait to dive in, they sent me fabulous product!  Here is the layout that won!

Summer is finally here and…some really GREAT news!

angie May 31st, 2011

Well we packed up Sat night and headed up north, both kids and myself and hubby.  My parents and brother were already there.  The downfall is everyone seemed to be fighting a cold.  Makenah developed a very high fever and we tried to nurse her back to health.  In between fevers we enjoyed a stroll outside and a few other outdoor activities, however decided to call our vacation short where Makenah was still suffering after 4 days…ear infection was confirmed.  But we have warm weather finally….yes finally we have hit 80 here in Wisconsin!   All in all we made the most out of the Memorial Day weekend!

Now on to some fabulous great news!  I had submitted to Momenta Design Team Call!  I just adore there products!

Well I am so very honored that I have been picked to Guest Design for the month of August!    How very exciting!!!  When I read the announcement I was jumping up and down!!!!  So I can’t wait to share with you what I create with their products.  I’ll leave today with a few projects I created with Momenta product.  This should get you in the mood for summer fun!
