Whew….can you believe it’s already December? Although it does not feel like it here in WI. Very uncharacteristic we have had warm weather and NO snow! It feels odd walking around xmas shopping in 50 degrees. I’m sure that will all change very soon. The family purchased a new Christmas tree right after Thanksgiving. It took a few hours to find the right one. It’s artificial but it looks quite real and my hubby is happy that it is pre lit! This weekend I may try and tackle some baking we will see…oh and then their are the stack of cards that have to be addressed. Do you see where I am going? So to help me out with this I created a Christmas Countdown. My son loves changing the dates, in fact to trick me he moved it to 1 more day till Christmas…I said “Don’t give mommy a heart attack!” This was super easy to make, I used a $1 frame from Michaels, painted the sides red, adhered my pattern paper to the base and the photo area. Embellished and created the date cards with the Cricut! TaDAH! Here it is:

Can you believe Thanksgiving is only a few short days away? Crazy! I started to pull out holiday decorations, and in fact we put the Christmas lights on outside. Figure to do it while it was still nice since it could snow any day.
I needed to create a gift bag, I always try to make a little goodie bag for our “adopted” grandma. Our next door neighbor is quiet close to us and I know most of her family does not live in the area and she is widowed for some time. So I usually stop over and bring her something to say Happy Thanksgiving.
Anyways…I created this Turkey Gift Bag for her. I actually hand sewed the feathers to add dimension. I was playing along with IChallenge this weekend and that was one of the challenges. I also used a color scheme that Scraptastic Kit Club posted and finally my new scrappy home Memorable Seasons had inspired me to make a Give Thanks project.

Can you believe it’s almost Thanksgiving! Goodness it feels like it was just Halloween. I need to get a move on creating some Holiday Cards for all my gift giving needs for this season. I found a sketch on Pamela’s World of Sketch that inspired me. Here is the sketch #226C

I’m so glad I found that Big Picture Classes Blog had Happy Mail challenges going on! They are helping me build onto my box of all occasion cards! Challenge #3 is all about DISTRESSING! Something I don’t do very often. I found my distressing tool and went to town. I distressed the outer edges of my pattern paper to expose a white trim. I also distressed some of the cardstock to add a worn feeling to the card. Here is my distressed card!

Lately I have been drawn to grid designs. I love how you can color block, create journal and title blocks and the design is very clean. Scraptastic Club’s Challenge #2 for the month of November is all about grids. Here is my layout:
I also played along with Memorable Season’s November Color Challenge. I just love how the dark blue is such a bold accent color! Happy Scrappin!

This weeks challenge on Red Carpet Studio happens to be a clean and simple layout. I tend to like the clean lines of layouts so I enjoyed creating this layout of my son when he was a bit younger. I pulled out some older Basic Grey papers to play with. If you want to be inspired weekly check out Red Carpet Studio for their weekly challenges.

I recently found a new scrapbooking home to chit chat and be inspired at Memorable Seasons. The DT post fun weekly challenges. They just recently posted the Dress It Up Challenge you can find more here. Make a holiday flower or tag. Well since I need to get going on my holiday cards and tags this was the perfect challenge for me. I actually found an old xmas card I had saved with these cute deer on the front. I ended up cutting it out and adding dimensional foam to the back to add dimension to my tag. I pulled out my xmas embellishment container and finished off my tag. Here it is:

One of my good friends always teases me that I have a gift of re purposing items. Whenever we are together I’ll find something that I could alter as a gift giving opportunity. I even do it at work. So we had lunch brought in the other day and they sent the food in these sturdy black boxes. I’m thinking they would be perfect for gift boxes. Then further what about a BOO box for a neighbor or family member. I was able to nab (3) of them before my coworkers crushed them up for the garbage. Here is what I did with one of them. I filled it with kleenex, notepaper, pumpkin themed napkins, a candle and candy. Here is what my finished box looked like. It’s going to make the perfect Boo box for our adopted grandma that lives next door to us!

The air had a certain crispness about it this morning…the heat kicked in and I could see frost on the grass.
Time to get movin on more Holiday Cards. On the Doodlebug Blog I saw a challenge posted for Happy Mail on Big Picture Classes. The challenge was to make a card with (2) different sized circles. So I got out the trusty Cricut and cut out two different sized circles and crated a cute Holiday Card use for present topper!

Using a sketch on Pamela’s World of Scrap I created my first Holiday card of the season. I loved the sketch as it is super versatile. Here is the sketch:
