What is this twine stuff….I have it, but have I ever used it? Ummm nope would be the answer. Sooooo I so two challenges this month that got my mojo going to use this fun component! ScrapFIT has a challenge posted here.
The DT posted some great inspiration using twine on their projects.
I also found a fun site called Scrap it Girl and they had a recipe challenge that called for twine. You had to use the color red, a bird, twine, circles and an arrow. You can see the challenge here: Although I did not have time to enter it, I loved the challenge.
Here is my first card/project using twine.

What a fun scrappy get a way I had! Last Thursday a friend of mine picked me up very early for our road trip to Mall of America. With the car loaded with all our most prized scrapbooking supplies we headed out. We had gone three years ago so we were happy to get to go again. Thursday night we cropped with Jillibean Soup, Friday up early and off to the make n takes! My favorite booth had to be Prima and Simple Stories! Friday night we cropped with Bella Blvd one of my all time fave companies! We also had plenty of time to go shopping in the bargain area for Scrap Fest participants! I can’t say I got a lot done during the crops but I sure had a lot of fun! I even was lucky enough to win one of the crop prizes. We are already planning on next years trip! Below is a pic of us with Stephanie from Bella Blvd!

Using your scraps to make quick cards is so easy to do, so why don’t I do it more often? Good question. Something I want to put on my “to do” list. I think I may have to plan a girls night where we get together and make cards. Echo Park happens to be just one of my favorite manufacturer’s I just love this collection. Here I just used a grid as my design and I had a cute card within 5 minutes. I challenge you to grab your leftover scraps and make something creative whether that be a card, a tag, bag topper or note. Have fun!

I wanted to share with you a simple project I made for Makenah’s 2nd Birthday Party! It made a great centerpiece. The pail I actually bought at Target after Easter on clearance. If you know me I love a good deal! The suckers we had accumulated a handful at home. I used a flower die cut punch and bought different colored tissue paper. I punched a few layers of the flowers, punched a hole in the center and stuck the center of the sucker through. I then crinkled and separated each layer of the tissue paper. I bought a Styrofoam filler and filled the pail. I then created the bouquet using different colored sucker flowers. Super easy!

Well this summer has been a busy one and I still have a stack of photo’s from last summer that need to be scrapped. Looking forward to going to Archiver’s Scrapfest in a few weeks, hoping to get a bunch of projects done and check out some fun product while I’m at it. To help celebrate the end of summer here is a layout I created of Makenah having fun in the backyard last summer!
